Piedmont / Central Appalachian Riverside Outcrop Prairie – CEGL006478

Riverside outcrop prairies on the tops of the bedrock terrace along the Potomac River at Madeira School, in the middle portion of the Potomac Gorge, Fairfax County.  The dominant grasses here are big bluestem (Andropogon gerardii) and eastern gamagrass (Tripsacum dactyloides var. dactyloides).
