The same slope shown in the previous photo, in early May.  Now, the trillium has faded and the state-rare mint Guyandotte beauty (Synandra hispidula, foreground, in flower and bud), begins to dominate the lush herbage.  Along the Clinch River near Carterton, Russell County.
