Extensive stand of gnarled and stunted pitch pine (Pinus rigida) over black huckleberry (Gaylussacia baccata) on the summit of Jack Mountain near Riven Rocks, southwest of Doe Hill in Highland County.  This is one of the highest-elevation (4300+ ft) stands of pine - oak / heath woodland in Virginia.
