Basic Oak-Hickory Woodland / Savanna – CEGL003721

Basic woodland composed primarily of hickories (Carya spp.) with some white oak (Quercus alba), in diabase flatwoods of the Fort Pickett controlled access training area, Dinwiddie County.  The herb layer is dominated by hickory seedlings and legumes such as tick-trefoils (Desmodium spp.).
