Piedmont / Central Appalachian Floodplain Swamp (Silver Maple - Green Ash Type) – CEGL006548

The Silver Maple - Green Ash type of floodplain swamp is rare in Virginia and occurs in big-river sloughs that are too deeply flooded for hydrophytic oaks.  This stand is along the Shenandoah River on Shenandoah University's Cool Spring Campus in Clarke County.
