Golden ragwort (Packera aurea) and tall scouring rush (Equisetum praealtum) under sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) and black walnut (Juglans nigra) in a rich floodplain forest along the New River, near the east end of Carters Island, Wythe County.  New River Trail State Park.
