Piedmont / Central Appalachian Silver Maple Forest – CEGL006217

Spring aspect of silver maple (Acer saccharinum) forest on the shore and bank of the Potomac River, upstream of the mouth of Dutchman Creek in Loudoun County.  This community type is frequently flooded during the winter and spring, but usually has an increasingly exposed and vegetated substrate as the summer progresses.
