Southern Piedmont Hardpan Forest – CEGL003714

Another old-age stand of Southern Piedmont Hardpan Forest in Cumberland State Forest.  The large post oaks (Quercus stellata, left foreground) in this stand have been aged by DOF at approximately 240 years.  Near Willis River Road, south of Union Hill, Cumberland County.
