Cumberland Mountain Northern Hardwood Forest - CEGL004417
Yellow jewelweed (Impatiens pallida) blooming in the herb layer of a sugar maple (Acer saccharum)-dominated northern hardwood forest on the upper east flank of Black Mountain in Wise County.  Most of this stand is on the Kentucky portion of the mountain, and the community type is restricted to the highest elevations.
