Wood nettle (Laportea canadensis) and Appalachian white snakeroot (Ageratina altissima var. roanensis) under sugar maple (Acer saccharum) in a rather rich northern hardwood stand at Elk Garden, in the saddle between Whitetop Mountain and Mount Rogers, Grayson/Smythe counties.  Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
