Non-Riverine Wet Hardwood Forest (Southern Coastal Plain Type) – CEGL007449
An unusually old stand of non-riverine wet hardwood forest west of Stumpy Lake in the City of Virginia Beach.  Cherrybark oak (Quercus pagoda) in foreground, swamp chestnut oak (Quercus michauxii) in background.  The stand is protected in the Stumpy Lake Natural Area, which surrounds a city park and golf course.
