Non-Riverine Wet Hardwood Forest (Northern Coastal Plain Type) – CEGL004644

Shallow depression in wet flatwoods dominated by willow oak (Quercus phellos) and swamp chestnut oak (Quercus michauxii), with understory consisting largely of sweet pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia).  On an ancient terrace of the Chickahominy River, southeast of Providence Forge in New Kent County. Game Farm Marsh State Wildlife Management Area.
