Central Appalachian Basic Seepage Swamp – CEGL008416
Dense colonies of common brome sedge (Carex bromoides ssp. bromoides) in a toe-slope seepage swamp in the Dismal Creek valley of southwestern Giles County.  This stand occurs over a calcareous shale, and is one of the southwesternmost occurrences of the community type. Eastern Divide Ranger District, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
