Appalachian Xeric Calcareous Cliff – CEGL004476

Jagged limestone cliffs subtending the South Fork Shenandoah River just north of Newport in Page County.  The cliff vegetation is variable, from sparse on exposed faces to woodlands on the clifftops and ledges.
