Central Appalachian Basic Ash - Hickory Woodland – CEGL003683

Very open metabasalt woodland on eastern flank of the Northern Blue Ridge, southwest of Devils Knob in Nelson County.  Some of the white ash (Fraxinus americana) in this stand have died from an infestation of the introduced insect pathogen Emerald Ash Borer.  Appalachian Trail Conference land.
