A dry, rocky, and stunted but floristically diverse calcareous forest on southwest facing slope over Shady Formation dolostone, along Cove Branch near its confluence with Cripple Creek, Wythe County.  Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
