Dry-Mesic Calcareous Forest (Southern Ridge and Valley / Cumberlands Type) – CEGL007233
A medium-aged stand of dry-mesic calcareous forest on the upper slope of the Stock Creek gorge in Natural Tunnel State Park, Scott County. This stand is co-dominated by several oaks and hickories, sugar maple (Acer saccharum), and some tuliptree (Liriodendron tulipifera). Hog-peanut (Amphicarpaea bracteata) covers the forest floor. © DCR-DNH, Gary P. Fleming
