Shenandoah Valley Sinkhole Pond (Typic Type) – CEGL007858

Virginia sneezeweed (Helenium virginicum) and Valley doll's-daisy (Boltonia montana), both narrow endemics with peculiar disjunct ranges, co-dominate the rims of Twin Pond in the Maple Flats pond complex near Sherando, Augusta County.  Glenwood-Pedlar Ranger District, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
