Central Appalachian Mountain Pond (Buttonbush - Threeway Sedge Type) – CEGL003746
Seasonally flooded sinkhole pond at Deep Run Ponds State Natural Area Preserve in Rockingham County.  The community is characterized by scattered clumps of buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis), with local herbaceous patch-dominance by three-way sedge (Dulichium arundinaceum var. arundinaceum), spotted pondweed (Potamogeton pulcher), and mild water-pepper (Persicaria hydropiperoides).
