Maritime Live Oak Forest – CEGL007027

A small, hammock stand of live oaks (Quercus virginiana) on a remnant dune surrounded by tidal marshes of Mobjack Bay; near Bayside, Mathews County.  This may be the northernmost stand of live oaks on the East Coast, but is likely to be subsumed by sea-level rise in the foreseeable future.
