Maritime Mixed Deciduous Forest – CEGL007540

Common sweetleaf (Symplocos tinctoria) and spanish-moss (Tillandsia usneoides) in a maritime mixed forest at First Landing State Park, City of Virginia Beach.  This is the most diverse maritime forest in Virginia, as well as the rarest, being known from only a few sites with extensive back dunes in southeast Virginia and northeast North Carolina.
