Maritime Mixed Deciduous Forest – CEGL007540

A mixed maritime forest in First Landing State Park, City of Virginia Beach.  The principal trees here are southern red oak (Quercus falcata), American holly (Ilex opaca var. opaca), loblolly pine (Pinus taeda), and sand hickory (Carya pallida), many of them festooned with spanish-moss (Tillandsia usneoides) or yellow jessamine (Gelsemium sempervirens).
