Maritime Live Oak Forest – CEGL007027

Extensive cutting of live oaks (Quercus virginiana) for firewood and other uses has increased the proportion of loblolly pine in Virginia stands of maritime live oak forest.  Just south of South Inlet, False Cape State Park and Natural Area Preserve, City of Virginia Beach.
