Loblolly Pine / Sand Heather Dune Woodland – CEGL006052

DCR-DNH ecologists and regional steward on a large sand flat (probably an old blow-out) in the loblolly pine/sand heather woodland at Savage Neck Dunes State Natural Area Preserve in Northampton County.  Note the mostly buried pine saplings and numerous clumps of sand heather (Hudsonia tomentosa) on the open flat.
