Black Cherry Xeric Dune Woodland < CEGL006319
The black cherry (Prunus serotina var. serotina) xeric dune woodland occupies high, xeric dunes well protected from salt spray.  Seaside little bluestem (Schizachyrium littorale) is the most abundant herbaceous species.  North end of Wallops Island behind Cow Gut Flat, Accomack County.  Wallops NASA Flight Facility.
