Loblolly Pine / Sand Heather Dune Woodland – CEGL006052

Common yucca (Yucca filamentosa) in a loblolly pine/sand heather dune woodland along the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay near Picketts Harbor, Northampton County.  This is one of the few native habitats in Virginia for the yucca, which primarily occurs as a cultivated escape.  Picketts Harbor State Natural Area Preserve.
