Overwash Dune Grassland – CEGL004097

Classic overwash dune grassland on a flattened dune system at the south end of Wreck Island, an Atlantic-side barrier island in Northampton County.  Saltmeadow cordgrass (Spartina patens) is the dominant grass, seaside goldenrod (Solidago sempervirens) is the dominant forb.  Wreck Island State Natural Area Preserve.
