Sea oats (Uniola paniculata) is a characteristic dune grass on the South Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plains, reaching its northern range limits in Virginia.  Here, it is common only south of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia Beach City.  False Cape State Park and Natural Area Preserve.
