Southern Blue Ridge Mafic Fen (Woodland Bulrush Type) – CEGL004252
A 25 square meter staminate clone of sweet gale (Myrica gale) among woodland bulrush (Scirpus expansus) in the mafic fen at Grayson Glades State Natural Area Preserve in Grayson County.  This is the only known Virginia population of this northern shrub.  It is one of two southern, disjunct populations, the other being in Henderson County, North Carolina.
