A rich boulderfield forest on dolostone talus below cliffs along the Shenandoah River on the north side of Calmes Neck, Clarke County.  Dominants in the stand include American basswood (Tilia americana var. americana), black maple (Acer nigrum), bladdernut (Staphylea trifolia), and bulblet bladder fern (Cystopteris bulbifera).
