Central Appalachian Chinquapin Oak - Eastern Redcedar Woodland – CEGL006231

A semi-closed but very diverse woodland on the dolomitic slopes of Cedar Ridge subtending Catawba Creek, south of Eagle Rock in Botetourt County.  Green violet (Cubelium concolor, in foreground) is one of many patch-dominant forbs in the stand.
