Ridge and Valley Dolostone Woodland – CEGL006030
Hoary puccoon (Lithospermum canescens, flowering) and glade wild quinine (Parthenium auriculatum, with broad leaves) in the vernal herb layer of a Ridge and Valley dolostone woodland.  The wild quinine, along with smooth coneflower (Echinacea laevigata) and prairie ragwort (Packera paupercula var. appalachiana), are diagnostic magnesiophiles of this community type.  Sweet Spring Hollow State Natural Area Preserve, Montgomery County.
