A section of the woodland shown in the previous photo.  Here, moss phlox (Phlox subulata) and ebony sedge (Carex eburnea) adorn the ledges under chinquapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii), eastern redcedar (Juniperus virginiana), and eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis var. canadensis).  New River Trail State Park, south of Lone Ash, Wythe County.
