Interdune Pond (Coastal Water-Hyssop - White Spikerush Oligohaline Type) – CEGL006350

A massive, ten-acre, brackish interdune pond between the oceanfront dunes and Swans Cove near the south end of Assateague Island, Accomack County.  Coastal water-hyssop (Bacopa monnieri) is the dominant species, with scattered clumps of white spikerush (Eleocharis albida) also present.  Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.
