Interdune Swale (Northern Mixed Grassland Type) – CEGL004117

A broad, seasonally flooded interdune swale at south end of Metompkin Island in Accomack County.  Salt marsh fleabane (Pluchea odorata), common threesquare (Schoenoplectus pungens var. pungens), and saltmeadow cordgrass (Spartina patens) co-dominate the stand.  The Nature Conservancy Metompkin Island Preserve.
