Dense interdune shrubland dominated by wax myrtle (Morella cerifera), with some high-tide bush (Baccharis halimifolia); at south end of Metompkin Island, an Atlantic-side barrier island on the Eastern Shore in Accomack County.  The Nature Conservancy Metompkin Island Preserve.
