Interdune Swale (Saltmeadow Cordgrass Brackish Type) – CEGL006342
DCR-DNH ecologists collecting plot data in a brackish interdune swale with low diversity at the southern end of Smith Island, a major barrier island on the Atlantic side of the Eastern Shore in Northampton County.  Only seven plant species occurred in the swale, with saltmeadow cordgrass (Spartina patens) and marsh fimbry (Fimbristylis castanea) greatly co-dominant.  The Nature Conservancy Smith Island Preserve.
