Ridge and Valley Inland Salt Marsh – CEGL006234

The rare inland salt marshes at Saltville, Smyth County, were heavily disturbed by industrial salt mining, hydrological alterations, and grazing.  The disturbances have been mitigated in recent decades through an EPA superfund site cleanup, and the subsequent establishment of a city park around the wetlands.
