Ridge and Valley Inland Salt Marsh – CEGL006234

Inland salt marsh in seasonally flooded basin at Saltville, Smyth County.  The fine graminoid dominating the foreground is black-grass rush (Juncus gerardii); behind it is a stand of saltmarsh bulrush (Bolboschoenus robustus).  Both are disjunct from the Atlantic Coastal Plain tidal estuaries.
