Soft-stem bulrush (Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani), arrow-arum (Peltandra virginica), bull-tongue arrowhead (Sagittaria lancifolia var. media), and swamp barnyard grass (Echinochloa walteri) characterize the shoreline marshes along the middle reaches of Pitts Creek in Accomack County.
