High-energy tidal shore vegetation partly inundated at high tide. Common threesquare (Schoenoplectus pungens var. pungens) dominates the stand, with scattered American common reed (Phragmites australis ssp. americanus) also present.  Western shore of the Chickahominy River near Sunken Marsh, Charles City County.
