High-Elevation Greenstone Barren – CEGL008536

A seepy clifftop greenstone barren on the northwest face of Stony Man Mountain is the only known Virginia site for hemlock parsley (Conioselinum chinense), a northern-boreal disjunct.  It is shown growing here with bluejoint (Calamagrostis canadensis).  Shenandoah National Park, Page County.
