Central Appalachian / Piedmont White Pine - Oak Forest – CEGL008539

A former oak/heath forest now invaded by eastern white pine (Pinus strobus) in all strata.  On shale along the lower slopes of Tinker Mountain near Carvins Cove Reservoir, Botetourt County.
