Piedmont / Coastal Plain Hemlock - Hardwood Forest – CEGL006474

Steep, northwest-facing bluff along the Rivanna River in eastern Albemarle County, with hemlocks of all ages mixed with several hardwoods.  In October 2016, there was a significant amount of mortality from hemlock woolly adelgid, but many trees were alive, and some were surprisingly healthy.
