Piedmont / Northern Coastal Plain Basic Seepage Swamp – CEGL006406

The Piedmont / Northern Coastal Plain Basic Seepage Swamp is rare in the Northern Coastal Plain, where it is associated with areas of productive, silt or clay soils.  This stand occurs on groundwater-saturated toe slopes at the edge of the Accokeek Creek floodplain near Brooke, Stafford County.  Crows Nest State Natural Area Preserve.
