Piedmont / Northern Coastal Plain Basic Seepage Swamp – CEGL006406

Early-spring aspect of a toe-slope seepage swamp along Wolftrap Creek at Wolf Trap Farm Park in Fairfax County.  Winterberry (Ilex verticillata, not yet leafed out) is the multi-stemmed shrub scattered among the skunk cabbage (Symplocarpus foetidus).
