Coastal Plain / Outer Piedmont Seepage Bog – CEGL006499

Mixed graminoid vegetation (primarily Dichanthelium lucidum, Rhynchospora gracilenta, Andropogon glomeratus, and Erianthus giganteus) in a headwaters seepage bog at the Quantico Marine Base controlled access training area in Fauquier County.  Like those at Fort A.P. Hill and Fort Pickett, this training area has been subject to frequent but random incendiary fires for about 80 years (and possibly longer, since Quantico was established in 1917).
