Northern red oak (Quercus rubra), chestnut oak (Quercus montana), and mountain-laurel (Kalmia latifolia) in an oak-beech/heath stand near Horsehead Cliffs on the Potomac River, Westmoreland State Park, Westmoreland County.  American beech is primarily an understory tree in this stand.
