The Northern Coastal Plain Beech - Mixed Hardwood Floodplain Forest is a rich, well-drained bottomland forest that occurs on fertile alluvium along major northern Coastal Plain rivers that originate in the Piedmont.  This stand is located along the Pamunkey River in Hanover County.
