An inundated backswamp dominated by young red maple (Acer rubrum), with arrow-arum (Peltandra virginica) and mild water-pepper (Persicaria hydropiperoides) abundant in the herb layer.  Along the Chickahominy River near Grapevine Bridge, Henrico County, Richmond National Battlefield Park.
